When people think about agriculture, they often picture fields of crops, fresh vegetables, or livestock. At FORAZI AGRO LIVESTOCK LTD., we see something much bigger.
For us, agriculture is about people.
Our journey began in the remote char (river island) areas of Bhola, where thousands of families depend on farming for their livelihoods. These communities are resilient, hardworking, and deeply connected to the land. Yet they often face unique challenges, including climate vulnerability, limited market access, seasonal unemployment, and restricted opportunities for income diversification.
Rather than viewing these challenges as barriers, we see them as opportunities to create lasting impact.
Creating Opportunities Close to Home
One of our primary goals is to generate sustainable livelihood opportunities within char communities. During our farming seasons, local residents are engaged in a range of agricultural activities—from land preparation and seedling management to irrigation, harvesting, sorting, and post-harvest handling.
By creating employment close to home, families can earn a stable income without having to migrate to cities in search of seasonal work. This not only strengthens household incomes but also helps keep communities together.
Empowering Smallholder Farmers
We believe that meaningful development happens when farmers grow alongside businesses.
Whenever possible, we work with local farmers by sharing practical farming knowledge, encouraging good agricultural practices, and promoting efficient production techniques. Currently, we are supporting 60 farmers by releasing land to them so they can cultivate crops and build sustainable livelihoods. We also support young entrepreneurs who want to start farming crops, helping them take their first steps into agriculture with greater confidence. Our aim is to improve productivity, reduce avoidable losses, and increase the overall value of agricultural products.
When local farmers become more productive, the entire community benefits.
Reducing Waste Through Innovation
Innovation is another way we support rural livelihoods.
Instead of allowing surplus or non-premium-grade produce to go to waste, we explore value-added agricultural products such as Watermelon Jaggery. This approach helps create additional market opportunities while maximizing the value of each harvest.
A stronger value chain means more opportunities for farmers, workers, and local entrepreneurs.
Building a Sustainable Future
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to farming responsibly by improving soil health, encouraging efficient resource use, and adopting practices that protect the environment for future generations.
As climate change increasingly affects coastal and river island communities, building resilient agricultural systems is becoming more important than ever.
Contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Our work aligns with several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), demonstrating that local action can contribute to global progress.
- SDG 1 – No Poverty: Creating employment and income opportunities for rural families.
- SDG 2 – Zero Hunger: Producing nutritious food while supporting sustainable agriculture.
- SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth: Generating fair employment and strengthening local economic activity.
- SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production: Reducing agricultural waste through value-added products and better resource management.
- SDG 13 – Climate Action: Promoting resilient farming practices that help communities adapt to changing environmental conditions.
Every step we take on our farms is connected to a broader vision of sustainable rural development.
Our Vision Beyond Farming
FORAZI AGRO LIVESTOCK LTD. was founded with the belief that business success should create shared value.
Our ambition is not only to grow premium agricultural products but also to empower communities, inspire innovation, and contribute to a more resilient agricultural future for Bangladesh.
Every crop we cultivate, every job we create, and every partnership we build brings us one step closer to that vision.
Because when rural communities grow stronger, agriculture becomes more than a business—it becomes a force for sustainable development.
